Today

Today I did that test, and it was very interesting to me. I don't know if I could actually say I liked it, because it just seemed unneeded to me. What I mean by this is that I didn't actually understand what the test was so suppose to indicate. I guess to me I didn't actually get anything out of it. At the same time even though I didn't actually get anything out of it personally maybe somebody else did.
The class divided, I've actually got to watch this in another class last year. It was very interesting. The first time I watched it I really wasn't expecting the results they got. I really did get a lot out of that. This was because I actually got the time to see race from another perspective. And personally I'm glad I got to experience that since I am also a minority. Personally I'm glad the teacher did what she did, because the time period back then people that had differences weren't looked at as equal they were looked at as unequal. I also liked how she broke things down for them, since they were only third graders. "All people should be treated the same!"
As for the face to face thing It was very interesting to see how peoples life's are different because of their race, religion or even their lifestyle. Its really sad that we as people cant get over the fact that people are made to be different, who cares if someone has darker skin than you or if their beliefs are different. We all should take the time and put yourself in their shoes, I bet that none of like to be talked about or placed in other categories because of things that we cant help. We really need to stop thinking just because we are some type of way, and if someone else is not he same that its not ok and frowned upon. Some times think about other peoples feeling and emotions before you speak your mind, because something's can be really hurtful! Just remember we all were made to be different not the same!

Homeboyz

This is a really good book. very good! It talks about the inner city life from teens prospective. This is a type of book that makes you think about how grateful your life may be. It really makes you stop and think, "Wow, this really happens to people and teens my age".

Now for a little background of the book. A girl named Tina was gunned down in a drive by. The sad part about this incident is that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  On the other hand her older brother Teddy didn't care about that. He wanted revenge, because somebody took his little sisters life away. Meanwhile as he was plotting is revenge, not shortly after he got arrested for attempted homicide and got thrown into California's Juvenile Prison. His plan for revenge started to go down hill.

Then Teddy got apart of a good probation program that allowed him to get released earlier than what was expected. Even though he got the privilege to leave early he still had to be on house arrest.  Also he had to mentor a twelve year old foster child, who wanted to be a gang banger named Micah. The kid had literally nothing to live for; no family, no goals, no role models, not even a bed to call his own.

Teddy did what he was told, and stuck to his probation duties and mentored the kid. As, he was mentoring he really truthful failed to realize that Micah's need for love and trust could really not only help the boy but also help him and his family from deep wounds from losing a love one.

"Pain is weakness leaving the body". This quote means that pain is small enough that you can handle it and also grow from it. Not only physically but even emotionally. This quote stood out to me because everyone goes through things and it can be really painful and get you down but if you can thing about it in a positive way, it will help you get though it quicker and easier!

So, yes I  would recommend this book to any and everyone. I say this because its good to know how other people live their lives, and see what other teens may go through such as family life, struggles, and education. This is a type of book that may make you say, "Wow, I'm fortunate"!
