My topic for my multi-gene research paper
is going to be about fashion or racism. I know these two are nowhere near the
same thing but I haven’t yet narrowed it down just yet. The reason why I want
to do fashion is because fashion is the career field I will be getting into. I
want to get my degree in fashion merchandising and become a buyer. A fashion buyer
is a person who interacts with wholesalers and clothing manufactures to
purchase lines of clothing, shoes and other fashion things. They also work
really close with fashion designers. If I do end up doing this topic I will be
interviewing my boss who owns Jonathan Alterations Plus. If I do further my research
I hope to learn more background and maybe gain some advice to help me in the
future. This topic is some meaningful to me because since I’ve worked in an
alteration place for about four years now I love everything about it!
The other topic I might do is racism.
Racism is the belief that some races of people are better than others. The reason I wanted to do this topic is because
I have witnessed many cases and not only with African Americans. This topic is
a very heavy topic to talk about but it’s still a very serious issue that still
goes on today. If I do, do this topic I would interview a lady in my youth
group, pastor, or even a family member. If I do further my research on this
topic I want to learn how these issues affect them and also more background on
it. This topic seems meaningful because I witness things like this on a daily,
but they may not be a big as others but I really want to see others inside on
this.
I like both of these ideas, although I do think you could do a little more with the racism topic and get some really good primary sources! But the fashion idea might be a little more fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome that you want to go into fashion. I think that would be a really cool topic to learn about for me as a reader. Racism, as you said above, is a very heavy topic, but either way you go it'll be interesting to learn and see your suggestions.
ReplyDeleteI think you should do your topic over racism. Its a big issue in the news right now
ReplyDeleteI think it would be easier to meet the expectation of 4 pages if you went with the racism topic
ReplyDeleteI am also split between two topics. I would like to do research based on my future career, but I am not sure I could find someone to interview.
ReplyDeleteI think you should write about racism, there is so much information and would be easy to write a lot about it.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have some great ideas.
ReplyDeleteBoth ideas seem really interesting! I like that the fashion one pertains to your future and career goal. The racism topic could also be really good because so many people over-look it in today's society.
ReplyDeleteGo with the one that you're most passionate about and that you will most enjoy writing about.
ReplyDeleteThose are two very different, but good ideas. I would love to hear more about how fashion really works in the business! Either way, you sound like you will have a good project.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your reasoning for both topics. I think you should do whichever one is more beneficial for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you should chose fashion so many people are doing papers on sad things. It would be refreshing to see some one talk about something fun and exiting!
ReplyDeleteI think they are both really strong and interesting topics, and both will would be great learning experience.
ReplyDeleteRacism is such a broad topic. I think once you figure out your topic you should narrow down what you would like your topic to focus on. I find both of your choices very interesting.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could see if there's any research about different fashion styles between races and social classes.
ReplyDeleteIt is clear that both of these topics are very important so maybe see if you can combine the two together!
ReplyDeleteRacism is definitely a problem in the world that deserves to be researched. There would also be a large amount of people that you could interview, some from today and some that lived in the 50's during the civil rights movement.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people are saying to do racism, but if you're just as passionate about fashion you might be able to make it work. Research whichever you will have more fun with! There are a lot of things that you could talk about for both of the topics.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have two very valid points for both topics so go with whichever one you choose because they'll both turn out great.
ReplyDeleteIm glad that some one else sees racism in all races. And im glad that your going to get some personal opinions by interviewing people.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to know much about both topics so either way you will be set for a great research project. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThese are both great topics. Maybe you could research how fashion has changed over time?
ReplyDeleteBoth of your topics seem like they would be very interesting. I would go with the one you feel strongly opinionated about.
ReplyDeleteboth of your topics sound cool, and I would probably go with the one you could talk more about! it would seem easier.
